History

In 1907, Prosper De Beyne, a 20-year old man, start working as a craftsman in a workshop for luxurious shoes in Izegem. In 1917, he moves to Brussels where he starts his own business. He develops a luxurious shoe-manufactory and commercialises his products under the brand name « Dahlia ».

In 1952, his son Adolphe De Beyne, decided, as pioneer, to start with the import of Italian shoes in order to answer to the always more luxurious needs of his customers. This strategic choice turned out to be the right one: today the shoes « made in Italy » are, more than ever, a guarantee of a highly qualitative production.

History

In 1975, Yves De Beyne, Prospers’ grandson, takes over the business and changes the company’s status into a limited corporation in order to face the increasing needs for capital. In 1981, he decided to build new offices in Anderlecht, very close to the ring, in order to facilitate the access to the showrooms for all the Belgian customers. Today, the story still goes on with the arrival of the fourth generation into the family business...
